Publishing statuses are set via the meta box in the upper right hand corner of any edit screen. A Publish box on a new post looks like this:
Beyond the simple “Save Draft” and “Publish” posts, you also have:
- Statuses: Here you can un-publish a published post or set a draft to “pending review” in order to allow editors a better look.
- Publish date: you can modify the publishing date/time to control the order that the post appears on the front page. Also, by setting a the publish date to the future, you can create a pseudo-approved state.
- Visibility: on EurActiv, this should never be used.
